Advanced Breast Biopsy Workshop

Where: At St Bartholomew's Hospital in London

West Wing, Breast Imaging Department

When: Saturday 21st September 2024, 9am-5pm

Delegates will be in small groups for hands-on experience in a range of interventional breast procedures. The training is led by an experienced team of radiologists and radiographers from Barts Health.

This course is suitable for breast radiology SpRs, junior breast radiology consultants, advanced practitioners, and consultant mammographers. Senior consultants may find this workshop a useful introduction to gain more experience working with new devices and techniques.

The workshop will include hands-on experience with:

• Ultrasound guided core biopsy and vacuum assisted biopsies, including the Neonavia open tip pulsed biopsy system

• Stereotactic and tomosynthesis guided vacuum biopsy with Eviva and EnCor Enspire™ Breast Biopsy Systems

• Placement of localisation devices, including Magseed, LOCaliser and SaviScout and a range of standard guidewires

• MRI biopsy techniques

• MDM style case presentations

This workshop provides 8 CPD credits in accordance with the CPD Scheme of the Royal College of Radiologists.

This workshop is sponsored by different vendors related to breast imaging and biopsies, eg. Hologic, Merit Medical, BD-Bart, NeoNavia, It's Interventional and Argon Medical, and representatives from these companies will be available on the day for more information about any of their products.

The team will endeavour to utilise only non-meat phantoms.

Refreshments and lunch will be included in the costs.

Limited places (max: 24 delegates). First come, first served policy, but there will be a waiting list in cases of cancellations. The registration might be closed at any point if the total number of delegates is reached.

If you are being sponsored by your employer and require the funding, we will require a letter from your sponsor (employer) on headed paper confirming:

• your name and job title,
• amount of sponsorship,
• confirmation that you will be attending the Barts Biopsy Study day on 21st of September,
• a postal & e-mail address for invoicing, and
• a purchase order number, if applicable.

Once the sponsor letter has been received, we will be able to invoice your sponsor. As soon as we have this endorsement, we will be able to reserve a place on the course, and we will request payment between September 1st and September 30th
