A one day pop up meeting for Women in Medicine . Open to doctors from all medical specialties. Breaking down out dated silo based conferences- we do not work in isolation, so why learn in silos? Discussing issues that affect women in medicine with a focus on mental health & well being .
We are delighted to have Dame Carol Black as our keynote speaker whom has had an illustrious medical career & is now a frequent advisor on health matters to the government .
We have three authors whom have published books "Doctors are also human " by Dr Caroline Elton & "Your Best Life- A Doctor’s Secret Guide to Radiant Health Over 40" by Dr Louise Wiseman . Both will be speaking about mental health & well being in women in medicine. An exciting addition to our agenda is Wendy Moore author of " Endell Street: The Trail Blazing Women Who Ran The World War One's Most Remarkable Military Hospital". Wendy will be speaking about the two suffragette doctors Flora Murray an anaesthetist and Louisa Garrett Anderson a surgeon who fought a great fight for us all to be where we are now.
Linking in with mental health will be Mrs Kate Beed, advisor on suicide risk within health care professionals.
Dr Louise Newson, a high profile doctor specialising in managing the menopause in a holistic approach , she featured recently in the Style Section of the Sunday Times & will be talking about her approach to the menopause.
We have a fun & dynamic discussion about social media in medicine by Dr Miriam Fine Goulden, consultant paediatrician at the Evelina Hospital London whom will challenge us not "to lurk".
Our program is modern & relevant to all women in medicine.
We have turned our back on windowless conference rooms in dreary hotels. The meeting is taking place on a stunning , organic farm , Hawthbush Farm in East Sussex ( www.hawthbushfarm.co.uk). Lunch ( see attached menu) is all from locally sourced produce with vegetarian options available , please specify. See travel directions attached . Close to London & several mainline stations.
