WIMIN are pleased to invite you to their conference "Creating an Environment for Women to Thrive in Medicine Conference" at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells, 28-29th September 23.
With a fantastic program of speakers (see attached) addressing issues such as gender equality, sexism in the workplace, women's health both in terms of your own health as women in medicine & that of your female patients. WIMIN have speakers ranging from Dame Jane Dacre to Dr Louise Newson. Dr Bill Kirkup will present his hard hitting findings from the Kirkup review of East Kent Maternity services which will be both interesting and will no doubt generate much discussion.
The Liz Sizer Memorial Award -WIMIN invites doctors in training to enter this poster competition. Short-listed candidates will display their posters at the meeting & the winner will receive a cash prize. Please see www.wimin.org for more details.
WIMIN have a focus on your well being, as leaders in healthcare you usually do all the looking after, however this is an opportunity for WIMIN to look after you with yoga sessions (included in the price but places limited so please prebook by emailing wimin@wimin.org), spa time & some fantastic stalls to peruse.
On Thursday evening you are invited to a drinks reception followed by a three course dinner at The Spa Hotel. The conference will end with lunch on Friday 29th.
Proceeds from the conference will go to WIMIN's chosen charity in Ghana, ASIGE, a fabulous organisation that empowers & educates women in the most marginalised communities in rural Ghana. ASIGE endeavours to end period poverty with reusable sanitary protection enabling girls to stay in education, provide women's sexual health information, assist girls with teenage pregnancies to get back to school and employs women weavers enabling them to support their families. Dorcas Apoore & Dr Deborah Brown will speak about the charity at the conference & stunning Ghanian baskets will be available to buy!
