About

Norman Espinosa is a world-renowned foot and ankle surgeon and scientifically active researcher. After graduating from medical school in Zurich (Switzerland) he completed his orthopaedic training in Zurich and Berne. To improve his clinical knowledge and technical skills Mr Espinosa embarked on two different fellowships: in foot and ankle with Mark S Myerson (Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A.) and in research with James Kasser and Michael Millis (Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.). From 2007 until 2015, he was head of the Foot and Ankle Surgery Unit at the University of Zurich, Department of Orthopaedics, Balgrist, Switzerland. In 2015 Mr Espinosa moved into private practice and founded the Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction in Zurich (FussInstitut Zürich), Switzerland which has become an internationally well-known center for foot and ankle surgery. Mr Espinosa is past president of the Swiss Foot and Ankle Society as well as of the foot ankle expert group (Swiss Orthopaedics), where he still serves as an active member. He is also a member of the research committee of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), the European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS), and AO. Mr Espinosa has published more than 100 papers and chapters and is a frequent lecturer at national and international meetings.
