The One Lung Ventilation Course takes place on 6th November 2025 at Basildon Hospital.
Taught by an expert faculty in cardiothoracic anaesthesia, the course blends evidence-based teaching with practical skills training.
Morning sessions cover the principles of one lung ventilation, lung isolation techniques, the physiological changes during OLV, and strategies for managing hypoxia.
The afternoon provides a hands-on focus with four rotating skill stations (left and right DLTs, bronchial blockers, and difficult airway management in thoracic anaesthesia), followed by workshops on complex scenarios and human factors.
This course is ideal for trainees of all grades, specialist trainees and Anaesthetists, who may need to perform one lung ventilation.
