7.5 Participatory hours CPD Points
Description
Designed for Anaesthetic Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs), this practical and simulation-based study day will develop knowledge, confidence and clinical awareness in the care of children undergoing anaesthesia.
The programme will explore paediatric airway management, including the selection and use of supraglottic airways (SGAs) and endotracheal tubes (ETTs), alongside strategies for recognising and managing difficult airways.
Participants will experience realistic simulated paediatric emergencies, providing opportunities to practise technical skills, communication, teamwork and decision-making in a safe learning environment. Collaborative learning and structured debriefing will promote greater awareness of non-technical skills and human factors that influence patient safety during high-pressure situations.
