EVENT INFORMATION
This event in partnership with B. Braun Aesculap Power Systems, includes interactive lectures, case discussions and intensive teaching through a 1:2 faculty/delegate dissection ratio.
An educational 2 day event based at the B. Braun Aesculap power systems supported lab within Cambridge University – Addenbrookes Hospital.
This course is aimed at senior registrars, consultants and ENT & skull based surgeons with a good knowledge of rhinology and drill use.
The 1:2 faculty/delegate ratio will allow for intensive teaching through interactive lectures and case discussions and cadaveric dissection based the lectures delivered. The faculty are all international fellowship trained in Advanced Rhinology and Anterior Skull base surgery.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
This course aims to:
• Introduce surgeons, who are competent in endoscopic sinus surgery, to techniques that can broaden their options in the management of sinonasal disease, that is not amenable to standard endoscopic techniques.
• Give attendees an overview of advanced sinus dissection techniques, their indications and applications through lectures and case presentations, and then use this learning to utilise their knowledge through practical dissection of cadaveric specimens.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
The course will equip delegates with an understanding of surgical indications and operative techniques for advanced sinus access for:
• Extended maxillary sinus approaches, pterygopalatine fossa and infratemporal fossa.
• Extended frontal sinus approaches including endoscopic medial Lothrop (Draf III) surgery.
• Approaches to the central skull base – pituitary | optic nervce | craniofacial resection.
• Transorbital corridors to the skull base.

A full refund will be given for all events cancelled no later than 4 weeks prior to the event date. After this time and up to 14 days before the date of the event, we will offer to offset the value of the event against another Academia event, or for refunds an administration charge of 10% of the event fee will be made. For cancellations that are made between 14 and 7 days before the date of the event we reserve the right to charge half the participation fee. The full participation fee will be payable for cancellation after this period and for non-attendance.
